John Deere -- the manufacturer of tractors and farm equipment -- also makes a number of great products for gift giving as well. And one of their most popular items are John Deere bicycles. Giving these for Christmas, birthdays and for other special occasions has become something of a family tradition in many parts of the country. Here's a sample of what you can get if you go shopping for John Deere bicycles --
First of all, for the little ones, we have the JDK Trike. This is, of course, a tricycle -- which is perfect for little kids who have not yet learned to ride a 2-wheel bicycle. Like all John Deere bicycles, the JDK Trike is made to be very sturdy -- indestructible, in fact. This tricycle is constructed of solid tubular steel. One feature you're sure to like on this John Deere bicycle is an adjustable seat -- with an adjustable seat, your child will not grow out of their tricycle too soon. This John Deere tricycle is also equipped with large, oversize, pneumatic tires -- and the tires have a very thick tread, for sure traction on the slipperist of surfaces. The frame on this John Deere bicycle is a solid green, the wheel wells and seat are yellow and the handlebars are black.
The next step up in John Deere bicycles is the John Deere 12" Bicycle. Again, it is in the distinctive green and yellow John Deere colors: the handlebars are yellow and green, with black handgrips, the frame is green and the wheel wells are yellow. The John Deere 12" Bicycle also has a small hauling rack above the rear wheel area -- and to help the little ones learn how to ride a two-wheeler, this John Deere bicycle also comes with a set of training wheels.
For the older child, who still may need a little help in learning to ride, there is the John Deere 16" Bicycle. This is a truly heavy-duty bicycle that comes equipped with a front shock absorber and a regular rear coaster brake. And to help your kid feel more grown up, this John Deere bicycle comes equipped with a handbrake to control the front wheel. The dimensions of this John Deere bicycle are 44 inches long and 31 inches high. It also has a more substantial-sized hauling rack above the rear wheel, and a very comfortable seat. It, too, also comes with detachable training wheels -- just in case your youngster needs them.
Finally, we come to the 20" Boys Bike. This is for the older child -- actually girls can ride it too -- who is ready for the "real thing." Like all the John Deere bicycles, it is painted with the trademark green-and-yellow color scheme. This John your bicycle sports and breaks, a chain guard, sturdy, traditional bike seat and a kickstand. It looks really sporty, just like the models the pros use. I think any older child would love riding this bike -- and the tires appear to be very sturdy and capable of handling all sorts of terrain. The 20" boys bike normally retails for just under $135 -- a tremendous value in bicycles.
