A Leader In Safety Equipment -- Bell Bicycle Helmets

Bell Bicycle Helmets

You know the history behind Bell bicycle helmets, don't you?  This company began as a small auto parts store in Los Angeles many years ago, offering safety equipment for auto racing.  As the years passed, they branched out into motorcycle safety equipment -- and now it is bicycling.  In the year 1975, they introduced the first really effective bicycle safety helmet -- the Bell Biker, the first bicycle safety helmet to include a full expanded polystyrene liner.

And in the year 1983 Bell introduced the V1 Pro -- the first Bell bicycle helmet developed specifically for those engaged in the sport of bicycle racing.  Soon after Bell became the official supplier to the US Cycling Team.

Another milestone in this company occurred in 1984: the introduction of Bell bicycle helmets for very small children -- the Li'l Bell Shell.  Unlike other helmets for toddlers, these Bell bicycle helmets have no hard outer shell but rather a thick, all-liner design.  The Li'l Bell Shell has proven to be one of the most popular types of Bell bicycle helmets -- from its first introduction, it reined for 17 years as the most popular toddler bicycle safety helmet.

Also in 1984, was the introduction of another Bell bicycle helmet -- the Pursuit, which was used by the US cycling team.  And in 1985 this company produced its one millionth Bell bicycle helmet!

Another innovation in Bell bicycle helmets occurred in the year 1989 -- the introduction of micro shelf technology to the Ovation series of Bell bicycle helmets.  Micro shelf is a thin layer of composite material which is placed over the foam liner to improve its appearance.  This year also witnessed another change in the design of Bell bicycle helmets -- the introduction of internal reinforcement rings, to help Bell bicycle helmets stand up under multiple impacts.

In the year of 1990, Bell bicycle helmets were again improved with the use of in-mold, micro-shell bonding, which increases the structural integrity and durability of their helmets, such as the Bell Evo Pro.

And in the year 1999 -- when the Consumer Product Safety Commission releases their new bicycle safety helmet standards -- Bell bicycle helmets easily met and pass this standard -- in fact, these bicycle helmets are the first to pass.  In the year 2001, Bell Helmets receives the Champion Award from the National Safe Kids Campaign -- a tremendous honor and one which speaks volumes about the quality of their products.

Also in 2001, the top of the line in Bell bicycle helmets -- such as the X-Ray and the Phi Pro -- began to be equipped with a geared positioning system -- allowing wearers of these Bell bicycle helmets to adjust the fit of their helmet through the use of a dial to achieve a comfortable, custom fit.

As you can see, the Bell company has a tremendous history -- and a tremendous reputation -- in this industry.  What greater recommendation could you want, or need, to encourage you to check out their products?
